Disabling all the credentials on an Android removes all system and user-installed certificates. This could lead to blocked access, faulty functionality of apps, etc. As such, be careful when disabling any certificate on your device.

Press Windows Key + R Key together, type certmgr. msc, and hit enter. You will get a new window with the list of Certificates installed on your computer. Locate the certificate you want to delete and then click on the Action button then, click on Delete.

Important: Removing certificates you've installed doesn't remove the permanent system certificates that your device needs to work. But if you remove a certificate that a certain Wi-Fi connection requires, your device may not connect to that Wi-Fi network anymore.

Answer. If you use S/MIME to sign or encrypt email messages, you should not delete your personal certificate, even after it expires. Doing so would cause you to permanently lose access to those messages. However, most users at MIT do not use S/MIME, and can safely delete their old or expired certificates.

Once the certificate expires it is no longer valid. Therefore, once a certificate expires you can safely remove it from the CA database. The one exception to this is if have Key Archival configured on the CA. If you are archiving private keys, you may not want to remove expired CA certificates from the CA database.

There may come a time when you need to delete a System Root certificate. This is not something you should do lightly, but, maybe a cert was installed by an update that you know is bad. Maybe a cert is expired. This isn't a huge deal, but, there's no reason for it to be there.
