Sidney was incorporated as a village in 1820, as a town in 1834 and received a charter in 1897.

The Daily News is owned by parent company Tribune Publishing. This company was acquired by Alden Global Capital, which operates its media properties through Digital First Media, in May 2021.

The Los Angeles Daily News is the second-largest-circulating paid daily newspaper of Los Angeles, California, after the unrelated Los Angeles Times, and the flagship newspaper of the Southern California News Group, a branch of Colorado-based Digital First Media.

An Area Rich in History

In 1819, the Ohio General Assembly determined that Shelby County needed a permanent site to serve as the county seat. Seventy acres of cleared farmland adjacent to the Great Miami River were donated and the new town was named Sidney, after Sir Phillip Sidney, an English patriot and writer.

Moved to Sidney about a year ago. The city is very safe, clean, people are friendly and with a lot of job opportunities, fair cost of leaving and very well located. Downtown is just gorgeous with a few bars and restaurants. Also have a huge and nice park for biking, hiking and play sports .
