Cardano is one of the most promoting cryptocurrencies. Mostly because of Charles Hoskinson, Cardano’s crypto-passionate and highly-respected founder. I’m a fan too.
He is one of the few people in the industry who truly understands what cryptocurrencies are all about.

Many crypto wallets don’t yet fully support Cardano. I’ve used a bunch of crypto-wallets, and I thought it would be helpful if I wrote about some of the best ADA wallets that I know work seamlessly.
And here we are.
I’ve included both hot wallets and cold wallets. I’m sure you’ll find the best one that suits you on this list.
One more thing, some of them also allow you to stake your Cardano HODLings. It’s totally safe and you won’t lose your coins even when they are staked, they’re still in your control in most cases. Make sure you check the staking wallet conditions before proceeding.

1. Exodus (Hot Wallet)
Exodus is my favorite crypto wallet. Well, after Trust wallet.
Exodus supports Cardano ADA coins and it also allows you to stake your coins. Staking your coin will earn you interest on your idle coin, like a savings account.
While they are staked, you can continue to make transactions using all the coins you’ve staked. However, you’ll only earn interest on the number of coins left staked for at least 30 days.
My number 1 recommendation for anyone looking for a Cardano Hot wallet is Exodus.
It by far is the most beautiful and easy-to-use Crypto Wallet. It’s beginner-friendly, works fast and it is also a non-custodial wallet. Meaning, you own every coin/token in the wallet and have total control.
No one can case them, and in case you lose the wallet, you can recover them through recovery seed keys.
You don’t have to create an account or give out any other personal details. Simply download Exodus, follow the steps to acquire your recovery seed keys, and you’re good to go.
Exodus also allows you to buy, sell and exchange cryptocurrencies effortlessly.
2. Atomic (Hot Wallet)
Atomic is another great Cardano wallet. It’s easy to use, works fast, and is all non-custodial, just like Exodus.
You can download Atomic wallet on your iOS or Android device and it takes less than 30 seconds to activate it. You can also access it on a desktop.
This wallet also allows you to stake your Cardano coins. You will earn an interest rate of 5.1% when you stake on Atomic wallet.

Overall, Atomic wallet is a great hot wallet for Cardano.

3. Ledger (Hardware)
Ledger is not a hot wallet. Instead, it’s a cold cryptocurrency wallet.
It is a physical hardware device, free of the internet and much more secure than a hot wallet.
Since it’s a physical device, without the internet, there is no way anyone can steal your crypto unless they have physical access to it.
You can store Cardano in Ledger pretty easily. Not all cold crypto wallets support it, so Ledger and the next one on this list are exceptions.
Ledger Nano X comes with Bluetooth and has a mobile app for carrying out smooth crypto transactions called Ledger Live App.
However, the app currently doesn’t support Cardano. You will have to use Yoroi Wallet to transfer coins to Ledger Nano X or Nano S.
Why do I like Ledger hardware wallets? They are pretty solid devices and they work seamlessly most of the time.
The new Ledger Live App is intuitive and beginner friarly. It allows you to purchase and exchange crypto right from the app.
Using Bluetooth transacting from a hardware wallet feels like you are using a hot wallet, but with a more secure and safe environment to store your coins.

4. Trezor (Hardware)
Trezor was the first hardware wallet built for bitcoin initially.
Later, it became one of the best and most secure hardware wallets for more than 1400 coins.
Including Cardano.
Trezor also supports Cardano, but you can not withdraw ADA directly from your Trezor wallet.
First, you need to load ADA into Adalite wallet which is compatible with Trezor.
You can transfer Cardano from Adalite to Trezor very easily as it natively supports the app and the interface is really easy to use.
Currently, this is only supported in Trezor Model T.
You can connect Trezor Model T with a computer. It comes with a touchscreen to input a passcode right into the device, making it much more secure.
