Up for sale, a 1960 Supro Tosca in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This USA made guitar was manufactured by the Valco company in Chicago, home not only to Supro, but also the National brand. Finished in an eye-catching copper nitro lacquer, this Supro truly sounds as good as it looks, with a warm, dark sounding oversized single coil pickup that delivers focused, dynamic tone. The pickup brightens up with a boost pedal or by dialing up the treble a bit on your amp and the guitar works equally well for chimey twanged out Country and all manner of Rock n Roll styles. Add a fuzz pedal and your favorite low wattage tube amp and you're in vintage tone heaven! This Supro has been professionally setup here at our shop, Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, and is currently strung with 11-50 strings to keep a familiar amount of string tension on the 22" scale.

The neck has a chunky baseball bat profile with a deep cutaway where the neck meets the body to make it easy to access the highest registers of the fretboard. The original frets are in fantastic shape, show very little wear, and play well all the way up the neck with no noticeable buzzing or dead spots. On the headstock, the original gold Kluson single line tuning machines are intact, turn smoothly and hold pitch well. You can also faintly see the outline on the face of the headstock of the original "Tosca" badge which is long gone.

The simple Volume and Tone controls work exactly as intended, with original Stackpole pots and large paper-in-oil tone cap. All of the original hardware is intact including the floating rosewood bridge, gold trapeze tailpiece and black pinstriped pickguard. The finish is clean and vibrant, with almost no difference in the color of the exposed finish vs the protected finish under the pickguard! There is light wear on the bass side lower bout of the body where the finish color is lighter from arm wear, and a few assorted nicks and dings, but no serious or structural wear of any kind. There is also a small spot of missing finish on the treble side of the body horn, best seen in photo #9.
