13 Mason Jar Crafts to Make & Sell for Extra Cash - What Mommy Does (2024)

The other day a friend of mine told me she wanted to start a business selling crafts at the local downtown flea market on the weekends.

She knows I have a thing for coming up with new business ideas, so she wanted me to help her brainstorm different mason jar projects for her business.

We narrowed it down to her first few products and I kept track of those in Evernote – I figure since I have this research on my computer already, I might as well share it on the blog!

I just can’t get enough off these – every time I see a mason jar soap pump in a shop, I’m tempted to buy it! I love the blue and green for our bathrooms and kitchen and the Christmas themed one is just lovely.

I think the snow globe, in particular, would sell extremely well starting early fall through the holidays.

If there’s two things I can’t get enough of, it’s mason jars and burlap. It took me a while to catch on to the big deal around burlap, but now that I get it, I LOVE it!

I can’t get enough of this paisley patterned burlap mason jar piece.I would say you could easily sell this for $7.99 and sell it like hotcakes! It’s super cute and would make a lovely gift – I know my mother-in-law would love this.

And this functional burlap-wrapped mason jar storage rack is just lovely. I would think you could easily sell this one for $25 or more.

In fact, I believe I saw a similar one for more than that a local boutique shop (one of those places where people rent booths in a flea market style indoor market).

Unique Mason Jar Projects to Resell

I never knew just how popular mason jars were until last year. Apparently, I don’t catch onto hip trends very fast. But then all of a sudden – they were EVERYWHERE I looked!

Not only that, they were being used in decor, in food prep, pinned all over Pinterest, introduced at craft nights for my moms group. Apparently, there are limitless uses for mason jars. LOL

These three bloggers/crafters have unique takes on the mason jar. The distressed look is pretty neat! And I especially dig the terrarium.

I didn’t know all about terrariums, either, until my sister turned me onto them. She has a couple of large terrariums – and I totally want one. So I know these would be great crafts for reselling.13 Mason Jar Crafts to Make & Sell for Extra Cash - What Mommy Does (4)

Mason Jar Gift Ideas to Sell for Extra Cash

If I know one thing, it’s that people love to give unique items as gifts. I found these two mason jar gifts that I think would be perfect for a boothat a craft fair or flea market!

The rainbow mason jar treats would make perfect Mother’s Day or even teacher gifts. And the sugar scrub is good for just about any gift-giving occasion. I love it particularly for a new neighbor, a new mother, or just because!

Lovely Painted Mason Jars

Ok, so I’ll be the first to admit. I just don’t get the appeal of painted and distressed mason jars. I get that they look old, but do old mason jars really look like that? I didn’t think they did.

I may not get it, but I think lots of people do. I have a friend who sells distressed chalk paint mason jars like crazy on her Facebook page and in local shops. So I believe it even if I don’t get it! 🙂

But ya’ll I DO love me some gold accents these days! As a matter of fact, I think this gold leaf mason jar would look perfect on my mantle.

UPDATE: A lot of people have been asking me lately where exactly you should try to sell your crafts online. I am going to write a post about this, but in the meantime, I want to put this out there – there is no better place to sell your crafts that a combo of local Facebook groups + Etsy + your own website.Hands down, the first thing I would do if I wanted to sell crafts online is to set up a shop on my blog. With a blog, you are able to push out your images and sales pages to all sorts of platforms, including Facebook and Pinterest. There are millions of people shopping for handmade items, and if you have your own blog, you can call the shots. You can even take a shot at ranking in Google for the craft of your choice – that’s how I get so much traffic to my own e-products and sell them like crazy every month. The principle is the same for physical products.
