1099 Form for the 2023 Tax Year | Crypto.com Help Center (2024)

Crypto.com may be required to issue to you a Form 1099-MISC, Miscellaneous Income, if you are a U.S. person who has earned USD $600 or more in rewards from Crypto.com during the previous calendar year from Lock-Ups, Earn, Referrals, and/or certain other activities. As required by law, Crypto.com will also provide a copy of your Form 1099-MISC to the Internal Revenue Service.

Crypto.com may be required to issue to you a Form 1099-B if you are a U.S. person who traded contracts during the tax year. It is your responsibility to determine the proper categorization of your transactions and tax situation, including whether and how the information contained in the Form 1099-B is applicable to your tax reporting obligations.

Please review U.S. Internal Revenue Service guidance or consult with an experienced professional tax advisor regarding how you should use the information provided on Form 1099-MISC or Form 1099-B and recordkeeping guidelines.

If your transaction activity met the reporting threshold, you should receive a copy of the form on or before January 31st.

You will receive an email from [emailprotected] to the latest email address that we have on record. Follow the link to download a copy of your Form 1099-MISC or 1099-B. If you have not received an email please check your email's spam or junk folder. If a paper copy is needed, please email [emailprotected].

Your transaction history can be downloaded directly from the app.

If you believe that the information on the 1099 form is incorrect, or that you should have received a 1099 form and did not, or that the form has been issued in error, or if you have a question relating to the form or information included on it, contact Crypto.com via in-app chat.

Certain transaction types may meet the threshold for Crypto.com to issue a Form 1099-Misc or Form 1099-B. Please review your transaction history for the previous year.

Box 1A – Description of Property – “Regulated Futures/Options” – contracts traded on Crypto.com.

Box 8 – Profit or (loss) realized on closed contracts.

Box 9 – Unrealized profit or (loss) on open contracts – 12/31 of the prior tax year. This will be $0.00 unless you had open contracts on the last business day of the prior tax year.

Box 10 – Unrealized profit or (loss) on open contracts – 12/31 of the current tax year. This will be $0.00 unless you had open contracts on the last business day of the current tax year.

Box 11 – Aggregate profit or (loss) on contracts – The sum of boxes 8, 9, and 10
