10 Budget-Friendly Hotels in Paris
I am starting a new series on the blog that is Paris on a Budget. Accommodations can be the most expensive part of trip planning even more than the flight. Once you have the flight booked, you will need to sort out accommodations. This post is an update from an original blog post on Budget Friendly Paris Hotels. Paris hotels have climbed in price due to the large demand for tourism since opening back up. Location and time of year is always a factor that can drastically change a room’s price. Reference the map below to narrow down your selection if there is a certain area you want to be based.
Book your hotel rooms as soon as you have your dates to lock in great deals. As you get closer, the room rate may jump dramatically based on demand. Spring, summer, and fall are all high seasons for Paris.

Budget Friendly Hotels in Paris: Maison Mère
Maison Mère is new on the scene in terms of boutique hotels and is the perfect place to spend a weekend or week in Paris. The rooms are equipped with modern amenities, it is brand new with close proximity to so many of Paris’s tourist attractions. Balconies look onto a quiet street. I recently stayed here earlier this summer and will be back for another stay later this year. The front desk is extremely helpful with any recommendations for places to eat in the area and they will store your luggage while you wait for your room.
There is a restaurant serving continental breakfast just off the lobby of the hotel. It is a short walk to great coffee and bakeries in the area as well. You can see my guide to the 9th arrondissem*nt here for other suggestions in the area.
Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais
Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais is probably the Boutique Hotel I recommend the most to readers. The hotel is located in the heart of the Marais within walking distance of Place des Vosges, the Bastille Market, and Notre Dame. I stayed here a few years ago and loved my time here. I had a room facing the street and a tiny window where I could have breakfast. You can take breakfast downstairs in the basem*nt but I chose to have it delivered to the room. The whole breakfast for one person was 12 euros and is still the best value for breakfast I have seen in Paris. including pastries, juice, yogurt, coffee, cheese, and a newspaper.
There are also rooms facing the courtyard with quiet rooms. You can’t go wrong and for those who love the Marais, it is an ideal location. I recommend booking this hotel early in your planning process as it does book up quickly.
10 Budget-Friendly Hotels in Paris
Hotel Paradis
Centrally located in Paris, Hotel Paradis is perfect for single or couples. The rates are anywhere between $120-$180 depending on the room size. The hotel is between the 9th/10th arrondissem*nts. I stayed here a few years ago in a comfortable room with no frills. One thing I loved about this hotel was the proximity to so many great restaurants in the city. If you are looking for an affordable hotel room, this is a good option. You can spend your budget on food and Paris attractions in the city. Add Bistro Rougemont to your restaurant list and Miznon an affordable sandwich shop is just around the corner This is a great budget-friendly hotel in Paris option.
Hotel Bienvenue
Located in the 9th arrondissem*nt Hotel Bienvenue is situated in a great location for someone looking for a local Paris experience. Rooms start as low as $100 – $200 (there is a triple room available for families for $180) Cooking classes are provided once a week on-site.
Hotel Monge
Hotel Monge is located on the Left Bank of Paris and is a quick walk to the Latin Quarter where you will find affordable food and drinks in the city of lights. The hotel has stylish rooms which are modern along with free breakfast and free wi-fi. There is plenty to do in the area including the Jardin des Plantes, Panthéon, and Luxembourg Gardens.
Hotel Grands Boulevards
Hotel Grands Boulevards is on the pricier end of the budget hotels, where can find a room closer to $200 per night. The hotel is Instagram friendly you may notice some of the images from your favorite bloggers spending time in Paris. I have not stayed here but wouldn’t hesitate in booking a night or two here. It is a 4-star hotel centrally located in the heart of the city which makes most of the city walkable. Unless you are right by the Eiffel Tower, I always feel that is one spot that might not be walkable. You can easily hop on the metro lines or grab an Uber.
Several friends of mine have stayed here over the summer and they specifically asked me to recommend this hotel to readers after their stays. There is a rooftop terrace for drinks and a view of the city of Paris.
Hotel Royal Madeleine
I discovered Hotel Royal Madeleine a few weeks back while doing blog research. I have recommended this place to a few friends and I would love the opportunity to stay here. It is located in the heart of the 8th arrondissem*nt and recently went under a remodel. The hotel looks fantastic and the price is right at $160-$180 per night.
Hotel Adèle and Jules
I rave about Adèle and Jules to readers because it is a lovely hotel and good value for the money. We hosted the girl’s Atlas Adventures Paris trips here and it went so well we did it a second time. There are many different types of rooms, some face the exterior quiet street, and the others face the courtyard for a very quiet rest.
The hotel is made up of two identical buildings, one is Adèle and one is called Jules. Adèle and Jules’s hotel staff is helpful with restaurant recommendations and activities in the neighborhood. Breakfast is available in the lobby along with tea time and an honesty bar. Room service is available for breakfast in your room. Balconies face the exterior street view in some rooms and you can sit and enjoy your breakfast. The street the hotel is situated on is a quiet family street. The rooms are a bit pricier than the above Boutique Hotels but this one will still come in under $200, this all depends on the time of year you are booking. Room 42 is the room I stayed in and had plenty of room for two people. Great for couples or friends.
The hotel has private bathrooms and some rooms are small for a solo traveler, they also have adjoining rooms that make it perfect for family rooms if you are traveling with kids. Hotel rooms are extremely clean and the rooms have flat-screen TVs to unwind at the end of the day.
Hotel Thèrese
Hotel Thèrese is the sister hotel of Adèle and Jules that I rave about all the time. The hotel is tucked away on a quiet street just a quick walk to the Louvre museum and easy access to so many of the great Paris first-time tourist spots on your must-see list. This is a great central location for exploring Paris for the first time. I stayed here once and really enjoyed the attention to detail from the desk staff and my room had a view of the quiet street. Hotel Thèrese is also a quick walking distance of Palais Royal and The Tuileries Gardens.
Hotel de la Tamise
Hotel de la Tamise is located in the Louvré- Saint Honoré district in central Paris on a quiet street overlooking The Tuileries Gardens. This hotel is composed of 19 rooms as a small boutique hotel with hotel rooms available for solo travelers and family rooms. You can’t beat the location with a quick walk to The Tuileries, Louvre, and Palais Royal. A walk across the Seine river will take you to St. Germain des Prés.

I always stay at Hotel La Perle in the 6th. Fabulous location 34 room boutique hotel. 5 euro breakfast. Wonderful staff.

Thank you for this post. My husband and I are travelling this October for our honeymoon and were looking for a nice boutique still affordable hotel, I checked the above online but rates are higher than what you mentioned :(. Do you have any other suggestions that are within a $150/$200 per night budget? Hotel Des Grands Boulevard is my favorite I think but it is $400 per night at the moment, Thank you again!

My sister-in-law & I stayed at the Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais last summer; what a wonderful little spot. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a nice stay–we were on the second floor in back; ordered breakfast on our last morning. I just wish we hadn’t waited til the end.
I highly recommend this hotel–great staff, atmosphere and location! We were able to walk almost everywhere!Reply

We stayed at the Hotel Ampere in the 17th. It was a queen bed with a single for 3 adults. We payed around 170 per night (Travelocity). It was a nice walk to the Arc de Triomphe. The metro (Pereire stop) was right across the street on a circle. There was the RER C on the next street by the circle. This train takes you direct to Versailles. The hotel has a great staff with lots of recommendations for meals and excursions. We found Bacinos which was the best Italian I ever ate. We went there twice because I had to get the Carpaccio that someone ordered on the first visit. We were going to stay at the Mercure by the Eiffel Tower but glad we didn’t. There wasn’t a lot there and it looked sketchy at night. The Hotel Ampere looks like its in a more residential area. Lots of Patisseries and Boulangeries. There was one across from the Bacino restaurant that was excellent!!!

So many great suggestions on this list! Not sure what their rates are like these days but I stayed at The Hoxton last December and it was very reasonable and super hip. Beautiful decor, nice restaurant and a secret bar!

I visited The Hoxton for a drink earlier this year but I haven’t stayed here yet. I am so happy to hear you enjoyed it. When I looked at the rates they were a little higher than the other hotels so I kept it out of the budget post. I will look at them for a future post. I am excited to hear they are bringing one to Chicago in a few years 🙂

We had a hard time finding a hotel (within our budget) with 2 actual beds instead of a bed and a pull out for myself and a friend I’m traveling with in a couple of weeks. Being 50, we need an actual bed if we want to be able to move the next day 🙂 These look very nice.

Hotel de Jobo (Josephine Bonaparte) in Marais. Boutique hotel steps from the St. Paul metro stop and a lovely off the beaten path courtyard full of cafes and restaurants. Steps from Rue des Rosiers, a vaudeville theatre, an Irish pub, a quaint shop selling anything you might need should the weather turn and you just didn’t pack for it, lovely staff.

I stayed in the Hotel de la Sorbonne 40 years ago when I first traveled to Paris — it’s gone through a complete transformation since then. Rooms are still quite affordable, and the Left Bank location is quite handy. https://www.hotelsorbonne.com
